Autolite 2100 2v Throttle body

Post by MustangMedic »

Fellas,
Just repaired a rocker stud on my 289, noticed the amount pf play in my throttle shaft is allowing heaps of fuel to leak when moved up and down. Where can I find....buy a replacement throttle body or bushing kit to overhaul the carby. I already have a kit, but need to sort the shaft and the amount of movement out.
Cheers,
Ashley M

I have some kind of Autolite carb sitting here. You're welcome to it if it will help.

Thanks guys,
Nuts, be in Canberra after the 28th so will pop in and catchup, as well as organise dinner meet for the rest of the forum members, and see what you got. Hybrid, will look at Nut's carby and let you know....by the way, fiddling with the carby earlier tonight, the little spring on the dash pot flew off.....still looking!

I lied to you Medic! 😰 I have a holley500, several Autolite 4100's, several Autolite 4300's, heaps of holley 600's and heaps of edelbrock 600's but no Autolite 2100's. I probably have the spring you need tho if you can't find yours.

Fellas,
So, after sandblasting all of my carby parts prior to rebuild, is there a clear coat, I use to keep the sand blasted finish....just askin.

Easy, you never sandblast carby parts. A good carby guy can clean & re-coat them.

Vapour blasting usually works well on carbs.

Big Mac,
Never realised you shouldn't blast them to clean them up, been looking at carbs from the states....sort of look like they have a blasted finish. Advice taken, will find a carby place and get it rebuilt/cleaned professionally. Keen to keep it stock...ish, now for the booster exchange.
