Tie rod ends and idler - best place to buy?

Post by smh00n »

I need inner rod ends and an idler for my 70.

Wheres the best place to buy them? Evil bay has many a price and promise so not sure where to go.

Also with the idler I am converting to a Borgeson power box from factory power steer; do I use the original power steer idler arm or the manual?

And can I just buy Falcon bits which I reckon would be cheaper than them fancy im-ported US of A car stuff which everybody knows you are rich when you have one.

Not sure what is interchangeable between a falcon and 70 mustang but if you can get moog tie rods etc as I have been told they are one of the better brands. I don't think they are generally very expensive or at least not for the earlier models.

If you end up getting from USA Opentracker Racing sell only MOOG items and are extremely helpful (infact I think they sell Borgeson stuff too now I think of it).

Just been looking and VPW are listing them and the prices are not too bad compared to US stuff. They were pretty good with a whole heap of engine stuff I bought from them so will prolly just use them.

Yep, VPW are great seem to be the best prices for large heavy stuff locally eg cranks, rods, heads. Either VPW or Precision but the latter wont help much with chassis stuff.

VPW=good prices, fast and sales staff are efficient.
