Re: Meitricks Android app (Beta) - Now in Google Play
We are buying the Meitrack T333
I already have a contact at Meitrack from when we did the previous group buy.

OK, think we need the T333-E:
T333-E:
UMTS/HSDPA: 900/2100MHz
GSM/GPRS: 900/1800MHz
Is this correct?

This isn't a group buy that I'm doing. Just ordered a couple of samples.
Feel free to organise a group if you like, and I can liaise with Meitrack. But I don't have the time or inclination to run the group buy thing again.

Jeff, are you saying the old models won't work at all once 2G is phased out?

I've been trying to purchase one for a while but had no luck - struggling to find a dealer to buy from.hybrid wrote:This isn't a group buy that I'm doing. Just ordered a couple of samples.

Do they sell to the public or wholesale only?

Yeah I couldn't find anyone retailing them either.
Jacko has found someone in Sydney who say they are a distributor,so they might be able to help.
I have been told by Meitrack (Oceania Sales Manager) that they don't have any distributors in Aus, so I can't vouch for them. I've said to Jacko though - if they are selling the T333 trackers for somewhere around AU$250 then they are in the ball park.
We are not restricted to the Meitrack trackers. I can write Mustrack website code to suit any tracker that can talk via GPRS as long as I can get a sample of it's protocol.
However, the Meitricks app is really designed for Meitrack trackers right now.

Astro, Jacko has found a mob in Sydney who buys these trackers in bulk with their own logo on it. They are the same as the T333 tracker that gbx and I are trialing, and their quoted price is about the same as what we're paying after shipping from China.

Jeff, will the old trackers work at all if (when) 2G is phased out
Re: Meitricks Android app (Beta) - Now in Google Play
No.
However Telstra is not the only 2G network out there.
It looks like all carriers do 2G.

So you could still use one of the current trackers, just not on Telstra after end of 2016.
Our new ones should arrive this week, and I know george was talking about selling his and I won't have a use for mine either.
Even using Telstra you still have 12 months life left.

Re: Meitricks Android app (Beta) - Now in Google Play
I have just released the current version of the app into production as I haven't seen any issues on it.
That means it will be open to the public. Can't wait for the trolls to tell me how bad it is

Hmmm.. My Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is not compatible with the current version of the app...!

Re: Meitricks Android app (Beta) - Now in Google Play
I wonder why.
Can you tell me which version of android it's running?
Go into settings, then all the way at the bottom, go to "About Phone".
Tell me what the android version is.
Edit:
My wifes old phone was a S4 mini which I just dug out and turned on, and it successfully installed there.
The minimum API level for the app is 19, which is KITKAT (Android 4.4)
