Summernats 2015 in Canberra
Summernats is on again in 2015.
Many of the local mustangers park at the top end of Lonsdale Street in Braddon on the Friday or Saturday (2 or 3rd January) night for dinner and to watch the world of cars drive by. There are many new eateries in the area including cafes for those 'soy latte with half froth' sippers out there. It tends to be a pretty relaxed evening for the family and kids. We usually start around 5.00p and finish around 10.00pm- or sooner if the Police close the street due to an excessive number of mullets per square metre.
If you are coming down/across or up to Canberra let us know.
Cheers

Yep, Nuts you are right....got a special spear for those little suckers. However the bigger problem is the eastern brown snakes.....they are a pain in the arse!!!, got a solution for them too, just gotta get another .22.
On the subject of mudcrabs, F%#k they breed em big up here in the Mary river, as they do the crocs.
Hooroo.

Try a 12 gauge. More room for error.MustangMedic wrote:However the bigger problem is the eastern brown snakes.....they are a pain in the arse!!!, got a solution for them too, just gotta get another .22.

True ..... We had an issue with rattle snakes at a friends property near our workshop in California. I was working a tractor with a bucket, lifting all sorts of crap that had been left behind by the previous owners. Found a nest of the buggers & my friend told his son-in-law to go get a gun. He comes back out with a revolver & shoots one, just pisses it off & now we have a bunch of real angry snakes. My friends missus arrives with the shotty & sorts the lot out with two shells ......xpconnor wrote:Try a 12 gauge. The local snake catcher told us that just up the road from there he "relocated" over 800 rattle snakes (biggest had 11 rattles) in 5 days.

We had a 6 ft red belly black here last week. Cat was about to play with it. Next door neighbour wanders over and grabs it behind the head and later relocated it just up the road in the pine forrest. I was gunna relocate it's head with my shovel. Lots of them, browns, tigers and copperies around here.
Selling the Mustang story to all those who will listen!
There are many listening in Gippsland.

Re: Summernats 2015 in Canberra
Red bellied blacks are ok unless you corner them. They actually tend to keep the others snake numbers down. Unfortunately, when people move in, they kill them because shit its a snake, and then the others move in. At that point you have a problem.

Re: Summernats 2015 in Canberra
OK, back to the summernats...
Friday and Saturday nights in Braddon were nice, relaxed but bloody hot. We had a good roll-up of cars on the Friday with numbers down tonight. The rain held off on both nights but we had Medic weather, humid- in Canberra this is not right!
A great drive past of cars all night with some nice mustangs. The trend for this year appears to be to take grandpa's Kingswood that you inherited and drop a stroker or big block into it. If you leave the metal louvers still intact that gives you more 'cred with your five 'besties' that you have crammed into the car with you.
The young grandson had a great time tonight with the chips, coke, water, fried rice, spring roll, chips (like with fish and...), banana paddle-pop, water and a little more coke zero. As penance his parents are now cleaning the chunder off the toilet floor and surrounds- but what would we know...
Cheers
