My old Bosch starter has just died on me, so need to order a new one. So just to confirm the one I need is a Bosch BXA005N before i order one.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Not a bad price plus free postage, can't seem to find one on ebay, but that could just be me. I need to go to supercheap tomorrow so will see what they have as well.geoff289 wrote:I was looking into these recently. This was the best price I found.

There probably all churned out in the same factory down town China, I just bought a bosch one from supercheap for $176, just have to wait for it to arrive.lukep6470 wrote:I now swear by the "el cheapo" ones after one sacrificed itself when my motor hydrolocked.
SuperCrap is the right word for them, placed an order last Tuesday, heard nothing so went in today and was told they had been trying to contact me, but you had my mobile number, yeah well sorry they don't make them anymore but we can get you an alternative one for $330. Just give me my money back?Dwayne wrote:Supercrap had them for $176 recently.
So originally you could use a starter from a falcon 6 cyl. like an XF, but you had to grind the front section deeper in to stop it fouling and also the position of the solenoid 12v terminal was very close to the steering components, mine was close but did not touch, so I have been using it to start and move my car around, unfortunately the solenoid died so time to upgrade to a better one hence the BXA005N bosch starter, which has the solenoid in a higher place away from the steering. This bosch starter hopefully does not need any mods to fit. If you look at the pic I have posted you can see what I mean( no idea whose it is, seems I have lost my pic).smh00n wrote:Can the original thread about fitting these be fixed so the pictures show up? Not sure exactly whats needed.
I doubt you would get that anywhere else.smh00n wrote:That's what I like in a moderator, quick responses with the right answers.
