This is using a mid eye from MikeMaierInc, no lowering blocks with 265/35/18 in the rear.

If you measure from the pinch weld slot in the rear its about 8 1/4" from the ground to the top of the slot.

I have the same question for my 66. The springs look like the original 4 leafs and are basically straight, as soon as anyone goes in the back, they bottom out. I want 5 leaf rear springs to stiffen it up but I don't want it to sit up too much in the rear so that I have to put lowering blocks in. I don't mind going up 10 or 20 mm on what it is now,

Harry's Classics are listing 5 leaf std or mid-eye for $183 per side, will mid-eye keep it near the height it is now? Any other recommendations?

Found a Custom Mustangs in Victoria, none in Canberra? The only Mustang parts place in Canberra shut down last year.

Pedders here just quoted me $440 for re-roll standard springs and add 1 leaf but my leaf faces are very worn. May as well buy new ones for that price. Harry will do them for $368 plus delivery so I can always pick them up when I'm in Sydney next but he's not open until the 14th.

Custom Mustangs quoted $460 for a recommended 5 leaf Mid eye plus $50 courier.

I think a 5 leaf may be a bit hard so I'll probably go 4.5 mid eye.

Astro had a 351 as well, so good reference point I'm guessing.

Any tips where to start, there's 65 pages!

Found it, stance looks nice on page 62, but looks high on 63?

Yes, funny, every time I jack my car up to work on it, the front sits up 2-3" in the air. looks crazy. Take it for a short run, sits down nice again.

Just not sure to go 4.5 or 5 leafs with 1" or 2" drop over standard. Don't want to end up putting lowering blocks under it and don't want too hard a ride.

Sounds good, I'll pickup a set from Harry when he's back in a week and a half. Custom Mustangs said from experience people who had their old springs reshaped found they flattened out again after about 3 months. Cheaper to buy new and my old springs have depressions where they have rubbed away over the years.
