yes you can.Dwayne wrote:Can you just use a handheld mini tablet? That way it's completely removable and easily upgraded.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
As long as the tablet has bluetooth and you add a bluetooth adapter to your Megasquirt, it should work.
George probably has pics of his in his car somewhere.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
i tested tablet using blue tooth etc and it was not a 100% satisfactory if thinking of an permanent solution. I had started a tinsy32 embedded project using can using custom c coded gui.

I'll give you my tablet I was using for this purpose.Shaunp wrote:Ive been thinking of putting one behind the roller door in the 67 console, roll the door down and you cant see it.Dwayne wrote:Can you just use a handheld mini tablet? That way it's completely removable and easily upgraded.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
What issues did you have with the tablet?
As far as display and logging I haven't had any issues.
But I will no longer tune using MSDroid if I can avoid it.

mainly unreliable automatic startup and establishment of bluetooth comms.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
Yep thats what I have (8" samsung tab A) and works well. The only step i havent automated yet, no time, is to automagically have shadow dash start automatically on a key input. Not fussed..just have to open the app. I originally wanted a permanent screen in there but found some flaws with that idea. 1. Cost for what it is. 2. I didnt want to be building a console around a piece of hardware that would no doubt need upgrading as technology improves or replacing if it breaks..unless its din or double din specd then its fine. But thats too small anyway. 3. for what i use my tablet for in the car (msq, gps/maps, audio processing sohybrid wrote:As long as the tablet has bluetooth and you add a bluetooth adapter to your Megasquirt, it should work.

no real need for a headunit, wireless hdd for audio and video storage and some future stuff im looking at like BT reverse camera amongst others). Its a pointless exercise to have it at the bottom of the console as you cant see it for my purpose. So i decided to just stick my tab whereever i wanted it.. mainly sits mounted up just under the ac vents. I used a hdd magnet on the back of the tablet cover and its that powerful it wont budge where its mounted... chirping through gears .sudden stops..hard changes..doesnt affect it. Best of all i can remove it and the car doesn't have a hole or look like somethings missing and i can use any tablet and any size i want. Shoulda kept the 10" but gave it to my mum so she can see better. similarly i can use my phone to do the same thing if i cant be assed for the tablet.
Great idea.. theres always an app to do anything and no wires or hooking anything up (unless your charging). Most have OTG USB and all the technologies you need. And last but not least.. front camera has its benefits when the tablet is mounted just under vents ..
Sorry don't have a pic.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
So got a 22 gallon tank today to tig the sump into.
Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
excellent. good to see it done.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
So the sump is instead of having a swirl pot and low pressure pump to fill it?Shaunp wrote:So got a 22 gallon tank today to tig the sump into.
Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
Yep, ideally it's the way to go for an external pump.Dwayne wrote:So the sump is instead of having a swirl pot and low pressure pump to fill it?Shaunp wrote:So got a 22 gallon tank today to tig the sump into.
Any by my track experience - put it towards the back of the tank

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
Or just make the hole going into the new sump a lot smaller than the sump itself. Instant baffle!!!
Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
BTW my super duper Weldon self priming EFI pump sprang a leak. I replaced the seal but there is other wear in it. The pump is fine when it is running but starts dripping about 10mins after you switch the car off. This will siphon the tank dry if you let it!!! I've decided it's too much of a safety issue to screw around with it any more.
So I've ordered one of the FiTech surge tanks that has the high pressure pump built into it. This will be fed by a 30GPH lift pump.

Re: Megasquirt - a story of injection
The pics I've seen have multiple holes drilled towards the front 2/3 of the sump.lukep6470 wrote:Or just make the hole going into the new sump a lot smaller than the sump itself. Instant baffle!!!
