The next part of the article has now been released. This is the start of a more technical focus though my goal has always been to try and keep it easy to follow and apply.

Enjoy.

Wow! I am really starting to understand the whole process. Something I had never grasped as I had never immersed myself in that side of my industry.

Thanks Boof, I find this very educational ....... :like:

Holy cow. First real opportunity to review Boof's work; christ that is detailed and invaluable. OK, now I will read it properly as I expect there is a multiple choice to progress to the next chapter.

Next section of the article is up. This section is one of the two big ones, e.g,
Head selection then the biggest is the camshaft selection.

It starts to get a little more technical though I have tried to keep it straight forward to read and understand. A few readers might not like what I am suggesting is the correct sized cylinder heads though I do try to show why and back it with mathematics as the basis. I have also added in the FAQ section so it can grow if feedback proves it is necessary.

Enjoy.

BTW: If you would like more time to digest this so far before I post the next section then please say so.

Although I am still following what is happening, the technical side is quite heavy for someone like me to follow.

What would help is an explanation of the abbreviations used (VE & CSA to name a couple). Could there be a table posted on a different page so we could have both open to reference back & forth?

Maybe we could extend it to use a lot of trade terminology & what it means. Then we could just ....... :rtfm:

Ok some good points; It needs to be technical to show how a head is selected rather than someone just saying use part X. I have done that with the table summary while the reader has the option to understand why these recommendations are applicable and when. Unfortunately the camshaft selection is heavier again in the technical side - in fact you will not see this documented anywhere - this applies to all sections to some degree though especially the camshaft section.

The abbreviations are explained though mainly in the formula summaries so I accept it is not clearly done in the core document. I do think I need to address that issue so I will make an abbreviations post. I will see look to add a section to the document as well. Thank you for that suggestion.
