Long Beach Port Delays

Post by Dad »

Got an email from shipping company today advising that due to the 4th July holiday and an RDO on 5th July, that my shipping date of 9th July has been pushed back to 29th July !!

:argh:

Was originally getting to Melbourne on 8th August but will not get here now until 28th August.

Have been advised that it was beyond the control of shipping company as "the steam lines reserve the right to reject and/or roll containers without any prior notice." Obviously not Shermatt's fault either.

They tell me mine was one of 5 containers to get rolled. How lucky I am !

If you have a container you think is leaving soon, best you check your email !

Does anyone know if Ken ships out of Long Beach or the Port of San Francisco ?

I think mine made it out last month.

Cheers,
Frank.

Ken ships out of Richmond (San Francisco). The warehouse he uses is chock a block with cars, but all neatly stacked away waiting on their box ride to where ever.

If yours is on the water, then you should know as you need some paperwork for your Aust agent. If you have not heard anything, I would guess it is because it has not left yet.

Coincidentaly got a call this arvo from my broker here ... I was told initially the car was due early to mid August - now he says NEXT WEEK !!!

That's up to a month early !

Later would have suited me better - he was surprised as most people want the car ASAP.

Cheers,
Frank.
