Re: Vale Ian Jackson (Ausjacko)

RIP Jacko - this one was such a shock to me and it makes you realise how fragile life can be at times.

Re: sound deadener recommendations

I found the thread. This was the mob selling it:
https://www.solavis.com.au/collections/products

It seems they don't list the acoustic insulation anymore, but maybe you can reach out to ask.

Re: sound deadener recommendations

I used both dynamat and a cheaper alternative in my car. There's threads about it on here somewhere because people were saying that the cheaper stuff will catch fire, but I actually set fire to both and there was very little, if any, difference.

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe

Can you share where you got it?
I'd consider putting one on mine to be honest, but not sure I have room.

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe

Some of the boosters come with it, but I haven't seen them sold separately.

Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

Not sure if I mentioned this previously, but I'm switching over from Megasquirt to Haltech. I've spent the last week or so at night making a custom harness for it. It's using a Deutsch bulkhead to go through the firewall. https://www.efihardware.com/products/2315/Deutsch-HD30-Series-Kit-with-Female-...

Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

New short block is done. Just waiting on some parts to arrive to finish it off.
I've also decided to switch from megasquirt to Haltech, so lots of wiring to be done as well.

It's hard to beat a nice new engine shot.

Re: Shorter throw shifter?

I've sat in and tested and I don't think a shorter shifter would impact my ability to drive the vehicle at all. Here's my current problem: https://i.postimg.cc/brHHGsZ9/IMG20230620105924.png The console is already way back on the original console to the point where the rear ashtray is unusable (whic...

Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

I don't think those brackets would be legal unless they aren't welded. I'm about to replace the brakes on my coupe with a wilwood kit. The old ones are a "big brake" kit, but one of the brackets has broken because it was welded. You don't have a mate who does CNC as well do you? I s...
