Re: running in oil change

If you have Hyd Tappets it will take a couple of seconds at start up for the oil to reach them and pump them up.

1300 rpm at idle seems high to me. I would have thought something around 500-600 rpm at idle in park. But I'm no expert.

Cheers

Re: Coolant...what do people use and why does it work...or not

Read about a product called Wetter Water years ago that helped a lot.
From memory it helped in reducing the amount of air bubbles trapped against the water jackets thus creating more surface area for the coolant to absorb heat from.

Will this polish out?

Today was ticking along nicely until the phone rang. Mum's been in a car crash, she is ok but going to hospital oh and the car is written off. Thankfully after a few hours in the hospital getting checked out, mum was released. She will be sore for a while but no lasting damage...we think. Guy had ju...

Re: POLICE BLITZ MELBOURNE

They will find something to get you for if they really want to. There is no court process. There is no way for you to argue your case. You're guilty until you are able to prove otherwise. Yep had the one of the local Sarges boast to me one day that he could defect a brand new car if he wanted to. A...

I still don't know why you Guys want to put the probe in the hose instead of the radiator fins?? I've fitted dozens to the radiator fins and they work fine! Or is this just about puting something in a hole? :impatient: From memory it was part of the destructions. However I'm relying on a mem...

Re: thermo fans

I fitted 2 to my ZK Fairlane many moons ago and could not get the temp probe to seal properly in the top radiator hose, so I ditched it and hard wired them to a switch independent from the ignition. Worked well, could switch em on when I needed and leave them running for a minute or so after switchi...
